they arent actually stoned to death if they're raped. they're just murdered. they get stoned to death for commiting adultery. A rapist would also get stoned to death. i've also seen footage of them impaling a man who raped a girl. they shoved a javelin / spear in his arse, then lifted it upright with him on it, till it pierced his entire body, coming out his shoulders.
THAT, i think, is a fitting punishment for a rapist.
but anyway, the way they justify the act of throwing stones at someone until they die, is because that person has commited a sin. and in doing so they have "thrown stones at the house of god" and as such must be punished in a similar fashion.
their belief system is pretty harsh i think. but who are we to judge it? what of christianity? what of catholics.... those lot have been known to burn people to death, crucify them, torture them, all sorts.
