r u sure it works? or are we supposed to meddle with the files? cuz the bytes don match and the client screws up on me. i tried hex editors as mentioned in teh tuts but i can't find the add-bytes-to-file function.

The patch does not work for me yet i am aware it works for SOME people which is just really really strange unless your taiji.exe has been cracked to remove the checksum check.

the info data file in that folder seems to hold byte count but changing this has no effect and SOME files that do exceed the byte limit do allow the game to execute but once you try to go in the game, it will crash.

A better patch is to be made with matching bytes, otherwise problems will occur and i don't suggest cracking the taiji executable to remove the check because this is not a cracking forum and discussing it here will likely get you warned / banned.

Note: some of the files in that info archive are DEThai translations and some connection info there for DEThai.

Just a bit of advice,

If you guys use the THAI translated files, a lot of options will be unavaiable or wrong, still some items options will appear wrong for you. I'll talking to a chinese about translating the original files, but i really doubt he will know how to do it.

Another tip for who's playing Slayer on Taijiol. The exp rate there is 1X with 3 hours a day 2X. I'm paying all my sins leveling there, but still is better than Thai with 10X rate. You'll be back to the good old "pick everything you see to earn money" times.

And chinese ppl seems to be less greedy than you can imagine. Today a chinese Enchanter Girl gave me a full sword set ( combat armor, goddess, unicorn shield ) and i was like "WTH"... they found this crap so easily that they preffer sell it to NPC or give it to noobs ( like me ).

I'm having a really good time in there. The challenge is back, there's no more ubber slayers with rented set crap anymore. You have to fight your way there. And some areas like Eslanian NE is really a surprising thing... you can easily find a Chaos Greed there lol...

It's nice to have something new to play. I hope it lasts a bit more than the "already dead" Blood Divine server.

Server 1 and 3 for me is impossible due to lag ( 3 step, 1 min lag ). Server 2 is ok :D

to translate, go into the info folder in de CN, then go to npc script. and then just use google or somthing to translate
i will see if just replacing the whole folder will help with the translations, if not... then hmmm, have to do the hard way

It's a little more complicated than that, which is why a hex editor is used for the most part.

Each string in the files that hold in-game text are assigned a reference ID which is usually the offset of the string which has a certain length limit.

On top of that a checksum is preformed when you execute the game.

You have a few options.

Checksum
---
Either disable the checksum check in the proper executable ( willing to bet it's taiji.exe )
but in rare cases the updater holds the checksum ( this is unlikely ).

OR

make sure the file you edited matches the original file checksum.

String Reference
---
This is used to tell the game which string to use when a certain script is executed, say an item option, item name, skill or NPC text, virtually any piece of text you can change in game.

If you have something like this, in string.inf

at the top somewhere consider

0000: < string reference
so..

0000: %d秒之后可以复活。 ................ < string ends here, tack on limit
0001: 必须的项目没有输入 ................ < string ends here, tack on limit

^ two different lines, each one corresponding to something in game

let's translate the first line with limit in tact

0000: %d seconds until you respawn .................... < translated but too long and pushes spaces into string 2 which would cause a problem in game and could quite possibly screw up the whole translation

let's trim the spaces down, in this case they are actually nulled points in ascii

so in hex it's 00 which would be like ".." or a square

0000: %d秒之后可以复活。 ................ < marker
0000: %d seconds until you respawn ...... < translated and matches string length without running into string 0001


why the hell am i explaining again..

why don't i just make a language pack for DE China & Thai..

Note: %d is a variable set via client and is absolutely mandatory as it holds the time in seconds to when you respawn, it's also set for a number of things in each file that contains in-game text.

The patch Raikoh found requires the taiji executable to be cracked ( removing the checksum check ).

Raikoh stated that he obtained the taiji executable from a friend, that friend probably gave him a cracked version of it which allows raikoh to run the patch because they aren't being compared with the client because the client no longer runs that check, disabled. ( duh ).

However, the files that he is using are the thai files hence why 25% of the string references are misplaced, especially a problem with NPC.

Anyway, i'm working on a DE China patch that will not require any cracking.

Don't ask when to expect the patch because i am working at my own speed but from time to time i will release a partially translated info archive.

Note: That particular error, Zaku, means that the appendpatch.inf file you're using is the wrong one, you need to reinstall or back that file up and since you don't have raikoh's taiji executable, you need to restore the entire info directory.

i found it on a different forum a br one i didnt know it was the thai one :/ sorry guys.. anyway it translates some of the npc's...can anyone get a list of the names of the blood bibles and what each one does as im too lazy... when u go to carmen and click the very bottom option it will give u a list of bibles in chinese with there english names near them..when u click on them u get the bible in ur equip menu and can use this in anymap
