The day that the hurricane hit i was in Mississippi at my cousin's in-laws house. later in the day the wind picked up so did the rain after about 3 hours the wind got faster and so did the rain. then we all heard a bang than a crash down came a tree not 5 feet from where i was sitting(in front of the window). as time passed the winds grew weaker since katrina was moving inland loosing power, speed, and warm waters. when it was all over looking outisde was like looking at a post invasion from aliens(only without dead bodies and buring piles of stuff) trees down, power lines down, no running water same with the affected areas. when i got back to slidell, LA(me and bosko's town) still no power, no running water, no phone, and flooding in about 40% of slidell. thats when my mother cried and said that we lost everything but i knew that the building was still standing i knew it in my heart.2 days later we went to our apartment building stand as i thought is would be but all around it was nothing but building debris and other debris from other buildings and houses. as the days passed we heard of looting in N.O and areas around us. Fema came in with the food(M.R.Es, water, and ice). the line was long and getting longer with each passing second. then the most crippling thing is that gas is like gold since there is no pwer to run the pumps and where there was power the gas line was atleast 1-2 miles long. people had to go into the next state or farther into Louisiana to get gas from cities that have power and gas. as time passed the situation got better powert started to return to the areas around me and when i left to come to texas i saw more than what the news shows you.

i typed this up because this an happen to anyone who lives near the coast wether you live in NYC or Los Angelos, what happened to N.O can happen to you. my message is this prepare for the worst.

sorry to double post but i forgot to add that i had to leave my now dead cat at the apartment when i evacuated. oh she survived the 19 foot tidal surge, but she was put down yesterday becasue she was like 12 or someting like that and had arthritis in her hips. but i have pics on my cell that i will try to post on here as soon as i get a cable to transfer em to this pc or mine.
