Included in this attachment:
String.inf - much more translated is mixed with String.inf from DarkEden international 1.2, rest is still chinese.
Zones.inf - new version for v1.6, with Raohm 5.
Item.inf - FIXED: no gunner glitch + all items translated to english
ItemOption.inf, NPCScript.inf is old but working. (by FallenAngel)
-sorry for wrong words,names etc.

String.inf
- all translated as english by GoogleTranslator, sometimes wrong sentences.
- grade items fixed, for some reason now is: (1 2 3 4 ... 9 X) not (I II III ... IX X).
Item.inf
- some items was still not translated, now is it.


How to use:
Copy all from archive to Data folder to game.

[V2 - this version is not tested, may not running, wrong sentences, thats why i attached two archives].

I personally don't see the point of an English launcher, since we already know how to use the current one, and it's not like it's that hard to save and reinstall our original english patches every update.

This was also the first step taken in making the speedhack back on INT. I doubt stopping the game from an update is considered legit.

Just run orginally fs.exe with parameter:

Now updater.exe no run by fs.exe everytime and no overwriting NPCScript.inf

probably launcher have problem with webbrowser IE5, or wrong copying thats files.
or mfc42.dll not found of his system.

I never once said I was "Afraid of viruses" or anything else you claimed I did... I was merely asking, what gave you the initiative to do this, and was telling Dreamcrash that stopping updates was a step in making a speedhack.

The game doesnt let you into it unless your fully updated. So you need to run normal updater to get into then start this again.

Actually, that's not true dream. The game will let you in without updated files if you can bypass the updater process. Stormray is right. That is how most speedhacks start because the 'hacked' files are no longer being overwritten thus allowing players to go into the game and hack away. It is up to the actual code inside the updater/fs executable to make it difficult to make alterations which allow hacks to be created.

Aioso has the right idea in preventing the update process to overwrite the files needed for translation but unfortunately it's not a very good idea to release to the public because it allows even the curious to test hacks far easier than figuring it out for themselves.

I can emulate the update server and make it appear legitimate by downloading their updated files every 12 hours and removing the files needed to translate from the updatelist that they use via web. That is how the updater checks for comparisons and knows what files to update. This also requires altering how your computer looks up the host the updater is refered to. Much like FalenAngel has said in a previous post. It is no secret but i don't think it is wise giving everyone full details because then the whole "Let's Create Hacks" will happen again causing more work for the FS and possibly DK2 (D2K?) developers.

Also, Aioso.. i would recommend not giving anyone shortcuts to bypass the updating process. I'm not being rude but i don't think it's a good idea to make it easier for the so called ' curious ' to test things. If you really want to be helpful, make a script that will grab the fs updated files every 12 hours (less than 24h is best option), remove files needed for translation from updatelist, place all of that on a dedicated and give people the hosts info to connect or edit your launcher and use that, making sure that it connects to your own update server using fs's updated files with a few exceptions like NPCScript. Of course even if you did something like that, it would take some time before people would trust you, seeing as how you'd have the ability to control what their client updates.

With all that being said, it would probably be better if you asked the FS team to provide a set of english files too or atleast remove the npc script from their update process. Although, would be difficult since they make updates to it quite a bit. An english set of files for an fs english updater/launcher from FS would be better but i don't know who on FS would be willing to do that.

Exactly. It's not like you have to lop off your own arms to simply remember which line of text does what. If worst come to worst, it doesn't hurt to ask. Usually at any given time, if you were to type in an English question in the area chat in the most populated areas, you will get an english answer.

First, that hexdecimal number is just parameters not assembler lol.
That parameter inform client fs.exe so is started by Updater.exe, not by "click to icon".
I was thinking that hexdecimal is identical for all. Now i think i wias in wrong,

Its not the NPC lines we cant memorize, its the item names. Their all in chinese.

btw the updater removes the NPCscript file so only part that is translated that i've seen so far is the bible page for vamps everything else for NPCs is still in chinese and thats with the V2 english patch, quests just the yellow writing and the msg that pops up but it would be nice if someone would translate that and try to prevent the updater from changing the info.

Well, the updater overwrites the files that don't match the checksum in the Update list.
The only part of the NPC that is translated is the bible selection but that information is not available in NPCScript, it calls another file which is translated if you apply the english patch. The english patches do work, even though the NPCScript is incomplete / outdated, it works too. The method i posted is a way to prevent the updater from overwriting those files.

The yellow event text and red text? Those are server messages which are set on a sched.
Those do not come from the client.

does my windows have to have the chinese/mandarin patch on it for it to work? all I see is characters you can find in 'character map' ex. the indent paragraph and the A with an o on top... ect. so I dont even see in chinese... I see screwed up giberish
