Seeing how the economics thread peeked my interest, I was curious as to what every one's preferred political outlook was. I tend to lean fairly left on left on social issues, and I'm a centrist when it comes to economic polices. To generalize, I like to call myself a social democrat, although I don't always see eye to eye with leftist in respect to a nationalized, actively-regulated economy (and I believe anyone who has suffered through enough economics will feel the same).
When it comes to foreign affairs, however, I see myself leaning to a more realist perspective. As much as I'd like to give credit to international organizations towards their role in the peace process, I still believe that international relations can only be perceived in terms of potential power. I'm not adverse to idea of using military force in cases of national self-interest, as long as those goals are defined and achievable. I am not, albeit may seem that way from above definition, pro-war. While wars are an inevitable consequence of human nature, I do not believe we should go out of are way to start some. Again, war should only be used when all other prudent options are exhausted towards the achievement of a particular objective.
I'm sure I could go on and on about what I feel, but I'd love to hear what all of you think.

I think slavery should be abolished!!! oh, what? thats already been done? WOOHOO.
Anyway, war, yes, i despise any war whatsoever. I'm not what you might call pro - peace but im definitely not pro - war. Because i agree that in most cases its unnecessary. So many things good and bad can come from it id rather not have our country take the risk.
Loss of further life is just, unheard of but it will never end. Because everyone doesnt think logically in terms of all, just themselves, or as in this case, the earth and other countries instead of just the US.
Now i personally think in 50 years well get taken over by china because of there rapid improvements. But i dont want to have to deal with them through war. I believe that when we fight them for the rank of the greatest world super - power well destroy the earth by nuclear warheads. Yet however i cant think of any other way we could go about it. and ive been thinking about it for a long time coming. Peace maybe, but i dont think any president really is planning on trying that.
+ The troops should be brought home. kthxbai

me i'm a republican.
i am pro-peace but understand that wars are inevitable when the other side is uncooperative or is unwilling to atleast sit down and talk about it.
As far as foreign affairs keeping good relations with any or all countries is the best bet to keep peace and order somewhat.
Do i support what bush is doing? not all the time. invading iraq was inevitable ever since our first encounter with him in 1991. as far as afghanistan yeah thats pretty much done with w\e troops we have there are probably just peace keepers like we had in serbia i think.

Monday - Thursday, I'm a Democrat, Friday - Sunday, I'm a Republican, and I'm not saying that I change my views twice a week, it just doesn't matter what I, or anyone for that matter, call myself, I both agree and disagree with things from both sides.
Pro Choice, womans vagina, let her do what she wants.
Pro Guns, eh, good luck getting rid of them.
Just an example of how I agree with both of 'em ;).

i agree,
i dont know what i am really, lol, but, i just think that war is not the way to go, but is inevatable, and has and will come and go, nothing you can really do about that.
also thinks that the USA should get peace with the whole fucking world, right now, we are a hated country, and i dont like that, cause hate leads to action in some cases.
have many veiws of my own about everything.

liberals are ghey. they don't know what the heck they are talking about. for instance, look at john kerry. He lost the election, yet he still cries like a baby. "OMFG! like.. get out of teh iraq and stuff!!!! OMFG!! U HAXED TEH VOTE MACHINE BUSH DOOD WTF U CHEATED!!!1111"
He has no idea what is going on, so frankly he should be muted irl.

and whats even more funny kerry is probably goin to run again in the 2008 elections.
but i think at this point kerry wouldnt be elected even if he were the only candidate.

no, i think he made it clear in his 8-hour rambling, incoherent speech that he isn't running. Obama ftw! even though im a moderate conservative!

well if senator McCain runs thats who i am voting for not the former mayor of NYC fuck him hes a retarded POS. he wanted money for the water that was used or drank from 9/11/01.
do you think that i am goin to vote for him....hell no.
as far as obama....yeah no i aint votin for him either i read some of his campaign issues like pulling the troops out of iraq quickly...right now we cant pull em out for the simple fact their newly formed government would collapse. now dont get me wrong i want em out as much as the next person but pulling them out too quickly will cause even more chaos than there is now.
now what we need to do is leave some advisors like we did at Vietnam before we even sent troops in. so they can advise the iraqi troops and government so they can still stay somewhat stable.
