[Elmiator]

Anatholia is a free emulator, developed in C, for DarkEden.
It's not his purpose, and wont be, to concur with the official DE server from Metrotech.
The emulator is on construction. Only chat and moviment are implemented. You can't attack and visit others places yet.

first of all, i don´t know why the hell the other guy posted 'DE BR/INT'... its not going to be a server... the developer team is going to build an emulator for the game, and everybody can host a server at home! the server should be an exactly copy of the original one, but fixing hacks and bugs.

if any of you give a shit about getting a INTERNATIONAL server up and running..you should listen to GSM.

if these guys are for real, like ive mentioned shit loads of times before. Emulation WILL work...and they've taken the first steps into giving us a chance to host our own server ^^.

Im curious about all the exact skill and monster damage and experience ratios. Can all those intricate gameplay details be found client side? hidden fromulas in a file somewhere. Or will gameplay merely be approximated from personal experience

I did some work on thai for a DE toolkit I was working on that calculates almost all of those stats.


Edit: Oh wait I formatted and lost the source, guess that won't be much help at all.

Your best bet would be to get on INT and speed hack every skill and look at everything it impacts.

but what about base damage from all the monsters.. lair skills, etc.. and their uh "attack rating"? (dunno what exactly determines a monsters propensity to hit say an unarmed base stat character.. be it dex str.. or lvl.)

that would be uber painful with all the DC's you could only record a couple of tests at a time.

All of those questions are left up to the GM's of the individual servers.

they are attempting to emulate de international.. to begin with anyways.. that would mean lvl 150 (lvl 100 skills) no dogs and no gay third race.

They are not personally intending to host a server.. merely to distribute the neccassary files to others for to set up an emulated version. Cost to play or availibility to public would be decided upon by individuals hosting their own servers. Though if someone tried to charge us to play they would probably be kicked in the nuts. :D

Ok, if you have any concern, then just don't download the emulator, your are NOT forced to download, don't you know?

Any kid 13+ is able to setup a moronic personal firewall to check if there's a keylogger in the .exe file

And after all, you're using Windows, I can't imagine a worse trojan program than that.

i would help too, but i havnt programed in maybe 3-4 years now, i used to do all my major programming in java, c++, some pascal (not much though) and vb 6.0. if i still cared a damn about computer languages, then i would help with the project, but as far as i am concerned, i am of no help... unless u want a knowledgable player... after all, i played de for atleast 4 years.

emulating the game is gonna take time.. and i doubt that they have made it the main priority of their lives,, so it will take even more time. Sit back and relax.. they will probably have some sort of unfinished release by april.

Meanwhile the gay underwater cable is expected to be fixed by the end of february so FS might be playable again.
