Just curious, how many of the peeps on this forum play guitar?
By guitar I mean any of these: 6, 12, or 4 string(bass), or even 7 string :)

I started acoustic and then moved into electric.. just bought a spider II amp so i have been playing a lot of metal lately. Im too cheap to buy a prime guitar so i play on a strat.. and a gibson epiphone. personally prefer the strat build cause the strings are closer to the fret board.
and explain to me the purpose of a 12 string guitar. why not either switch guitars mid song.. or i dunno get a friend and play along with :D

I only said that because when I post my threads there is always some faggot who says "You're not specific enough! You're too vague OMFGGGGG"
Jimmy Page's Double Headed Guitar FTW DOOD
I have a Fender Squire (which is more or less a strat.. just differnt name) and I have a suxor amp. I'd liek to get a epiphone someday though, they look cool :D

I used to play bass, drums, among other instruments. I just stick to vocals now. But I still know a lot about guitar cuz of the other band members. If we wanna write I can still pick up a guitar and show them something I have an idea for. I'll never be able to play like you guys probably can though.

I own guitars but I have stopped playing, or even trying to play. My hand suffers from Ctrl+Shift syndrome so I can't do chords.

I'm sure if you started playing again you'd regain your abilities. You can't be stale forever bro.

With a 12 string guitar you get a fuller, richer, warmer sound. It's very hard to duplicate the sound with more than one guitar.

lolz. ctrl+shift syndrom. yeah, 12 strings are amazing! I love them. I don't own one though.. those suckaz are like 700 bucks for a decent one. Guitar players own all, yes.
Bass is cool too. I'm going to learn a little bass myself actually. I have a fender bass.:)

Hey. so im lookin for some wicked new riffs to play on the electric guitar.
the problem is i can play the parts i like from just about all the songs I know. With the expection of Steve Vai who pretty much kicks me in the nuts everytime i try to play something other than somewher over the rainbow. I havent heard any new (or old) music lately that i like
currently I like to play metallica, clapton(Layla), the police and other picking riffs.
Anyone got some suggestions..
(and no i dont want to play stairway to heavan. :p)

DOOD! Stairway to heaven will kick you in the NUTTS.
But anyways, Led Zeppelin has some very cool riffs. Kashmir, Trampled Underfoot, all of that jazz is awesome. If you're just looking for cool riffs then yeah, Layla is a good one i can half way do that... Jimmy page is the pwnor of cool riffs. if you want maybe more of like a whole-bodied song with some awesome guitarness, then I suggest Stevie Ray Vaughan, ZZTop (La Grange and Sharp Dressed Man are good ones), and other clapton like White Room. Jimi Hendrix too, his songs are fun to play.

hmm ZZtop good call.. Clapton i never went far beyond layla and cocaine. I will check out white room.. I know that tears in heaven is damn hard to pull off right after playing master of puppets. The two styles are just too different
