American Idol especially. Call me an immigrant, but if you tried to pull something like that in Hungary, people would laugh at you. You can't audition when you have never taken lessons or never got a single positive compliment from someone that actually knows what they're talking about.

You probably wouldn't know it, but the one that stands out the most to me is "Red Faces", a segment of "Hey, Hey, It's Saturday". And another show that used to be called "Fast Forward" was hilarious too. Unfortunately, both of those have been discontinued.
