most mobo's will only run one or the other.
pci-express is the newer "faster" version.

my mobo has pci slots and agp and i think one pci express. ill have to check wen i get back to my house to be sure.
basically i wanna be able to run css without a problem..

If you have AGP, you most likely don't have PCI Express.

No he flat out doesn't. MOtherboards will only support either ATI Crossfire chipsets or Nvidia SLI chipsets. If they won't include two types of PCI Express then I really doubt both PCI and AGP is gonna happen.

PCI cards are longer than AGP cards.
You gotta have to check out the slot in your cpu.\
Correct me if im wrong. :)
The easiest way to identify an AGP slot is to look at its position on the motherboard. AGP slots are usually closer to the edge.

well i had my dad take a look and he straightened out my confusion.. ima haft to get an agp card. i havnt been home yet so yeah i couldnt take a look for myself.

My video card still runs most things pretty good, and is old enough to be fairly cheap now. It's a Radeon X800 Pro, or you could go for the X1600, etc, which is the next model, and the last of the Radeon AGPs, I think (though they have PCIe ones available too, so watch what you get if you get them).

For ATI's PCI-e the best is the X1900 or X1950 with CrossFire (if you get a capable mobo of course)

why upgrade just your card? save up and wait for dx 10 cards from ati and get a better mobo that supports pci-e
