View Full Version : Full English Text for NPC's & Quests

Is there an English text patch anywhere that will have the merchant, teleport and quest NPC in all English? I used the English patches linked here, but they only translate items and my vamp spells into English.....which is great, but I was wondering if there is anything close to a full patch?
I tried copying the files from the International English Version over the Feng Shen files hoping I would get the full English deal......but after I did that the Feng Shen would not load after the updater. :p
Buy one of those tapes that teaches you Chinese whilst you sleep.
Hell, it's probably easier that way.

Yeah.. they worked on me.
I tried a French one in grade 7, for the entire day, I was running around going
"Oui? Si Vous Plat" , so they asked if they could kick me in the nuts, my response being Yes, please. So.. yeah..
Shit went down. I got the worse end of it.
The point is, they work.

As a serious response No i don't think thats possible. I think the best thing to do is any problems with NPC's Not understanding quests is to 1. PM howard 2. take a screen shot and post it on here asking what the quest or options are. hope this helps.

wow..so many complain about the lack on english patches still :)
if each one of you took a single file and translated it. you would have a FULL patch inside of a few hours y'know?
but you all preffer to sit on ya candy asses and cry :rolleyes:

download a hex editor and work it out yourself like i did. its really not that hard hence why i learnt how to edit them within the first week of playing a foreign DE of the sort.
any questions after actually getting off your asses and trying and i'll be willing to give pointers. as for you dont know what files to edit...are you saying all this time you been downloading .inf files from the info folder but didnt realize those files had been modified?
im not flaming..im just saying you take the first step and i'll help out. ive taught 10+ people how to do this from this forum individually and thoroughly. im not about to start that pointless non appreciated hobby up again tyvm.

hey i've said thanks to about the patches a few times...so its not totally non appreciated.
any suggestions on a good hex editor? and is there a guide that would help me or anyone who wants to do this?

not everyone could make an english patch.. i would imagine you would need to know chinese to do it? (atleast, its only logical that you would need to know chinese to.. translate chinese)

Well, you don't necessarily have to speak Chinese to do the translation.....just use a free online language translator.
If anyone could do a full translation, you would basically be immortalized within the community, because everyone would give you props. Some people are just good at that stuff and can do it in a few hours, while people like me suck at it and it would take me 5 years.
People that make the game better are much appreciated. But there are probably just a small number of people that have the ability/skill to do it.
