My main is a 70 UD mage who is kind of undergeared but i have mad skill, and ALL ROGUES ARE BROKEN..... it isn't even a matter of shitty gear or not if a rogue has around a 80 dps dagger mh it is impossible to win.....
3k ambush crits+sprint+vanish+blind+cos+spec skills+poisons...... i want a fhking cd that actualy does something as a mage that i don't need to spec for P.S. Arcane mages blow....
And another point is locks...... a good lock is impossible to beat even if your t4 and there t4...... fel hunter steals your buffs+does damage to you+counter spells you.... Lock death coils/fears/dots/spams shadowbolt or incinerate which hit rougly 2k shadowbolt for a ok geared lock/2.5-3k incinerate and then if ur gonna get out of fear they still cast another skill and silence you with the pet so they do 2.5k more dmg which isnt really needed because 9 seconds of dot's is enough to kill you at 3k life from incinerate!!!
AND ON TOP OF ALL OF IT MAGES STILL GET NERFED WOOOOOOOT GG BLIZZ!

Spec for Melee classes then, A good frost mage will always beat a rogue, there is one mage on ma server who ive only managed to beat once hes solid has like 9k HP and is frost spec. Once Rogues blow their CoS Just Iceblock until it runs out after that he's fucked, also try to have to the water elemental up when u are fightin a rogue.

In most cases the rogue will just run around like a idiot gettin hit by the elemental ,which hits pretty hard tbh, but if he actually does go for the water elemental just get out of iceblock and lay on some of your big dmg skills. Just make sure u iceblock no where near your water elemental so if he does go for the elemental he cant get back to you fast.

But about the warlocks i got no idea lol just run away...:p

you're bitching about your class not being viable against rogues unless you spec into it. but Your Pve viability is ALWAYS there regardless of spec. you will ALWAYS get into groups as a mage. no matter what you spec is. and you will always do good damage.

now look at it from the point of view of a rogue. We have 3 talent trees. 2 of which were never viable PvE tools. as a rogue, you spec for either PvE OR PvP. you dont get to choose both like a mage does.

now think of it like this, WoW has been live for over 2 years. Rogues have, and always will be massively cooldown reliant. Before CloS was introduced, rogues were always laughed at as being the free kill. the fodder that ever one else just chows down on willy-nilly. When blizzard FINALLY implimented a real tool to help combat mage classes, the entirety of the magic user community went absolutely spastic.

CloS is good for 5 seconds or so. it's not hard to turn your mouse, blink, and run for 5 seconds. if they go out of combat, they have wasted CloS. if they sprint and try catch up, they will have wasted CloS. If they dont have sprint, they have wasted CloS.

what you need to do is not only learn the strengths of your own class, but learn the strengths and weaknesses of other classes.

there are a lot of rogues these days that use CloS as a crutch (every fight, every time it's up, blow it). you should be able to wipe the floor with noobs like that. If you manage your cooldowns, and watch when they use theres, you should be fine.

Unless they Clos + vanish + shadowstep and stun you (after your blink. otherwise its pointless), there isnt a lot of chance for a rogue to max your hp down in the short 5 odd seconds that it lasts.

Good lord, crying about warlocks...what else is new. Look, we are easy to beat, but I'm not going to reveal to you how to do so because you need to figure this one out on your own. Every class can complain about how they've been nerfed by Blizz in some way or another, for example; Warlocks have been nerfed by Blizz because at one point we used to be able to crit the way we do at 70....at 60 when CoS or CoE was up. They nerfed the shit out of that and we could no longer crit like mages could. Everyone gets nerfed at one point or another, but it doesn't make or break your class. You need to go back to Hello Kitty Adventure Island or get off the PvP server and go on an RPG server if you can't handle it kid.

dude either ur a shitty rogue or im lost here because i am ice hence why i said 3 min mages suck and specing fire is just stupid.............. if a rogue has all his cd's up there is no way in hell i could beat him unless i blew cold snap to get ice block back which is cheap rofl and when i have no ice block/elly i cant beat a rogue who has no cd's because cloak of shadows has NO COOL DOWN TIME. I can duel the same rogue on my server he out gears me with two 80 dps daggers and own him with cooldowns but w/o them there is no hope for a mage to win. and u should have seen how lucky this one rogue got when i was arcane spec for arena it was REALLY REALLY SAD...... he is in a 10 second polly i use my macro for arcane power/trinket/pyro AND THE MILISECOND HE SOME HOW GETS OUT OF POLLY EARLY USES COS AND RESISTS PYRO. I POM/PYRO AFTER IT AND HE RESISTS BECAUSE IT IS MACRO'ED LOL AND I STILL KICKED HIS ASS................. and as for locks i dont need to know how to beat you a lock with thatring you have up there is indestructable litteraly man.... 32 dmg/15 int/15 stam/crit that ring is op on a lock..... not to mention most t4/arena geared locks have 10k hp, i mean theres a lock on my server spec'ed for fel guard that still kicks my ass because he is arena/t4 and is mass dmg..... he also does the smartest thing i've ever seen a lock do rofl when he death coils he intercepts with his fel then fears you....... he gets the fear off and it takes me 1 second to trinket out and he just got like 6 seconds on dot's on me w/o me dmging him theres no way that i can beat him, or any undergeared lock.... they are just pure gankage and a beast hunter is impossible to kill on a mage ;D who the fuck would give a class that hits 2k range skills and if the hunter is smart and has a boar pet he would charge u beastal wraith and kite you and if u get close use pet's intimidate and u have another 3 second's of range ownage!@!@!@!@!@ yay

You have higher spell damage then a warlock ever will and you can crit for well over 5,000. If you can't handle a little fear, then you are pathetic. But ya got me there, the baddies that spec Beast Mastery just to get The Beast Within can indeed take me. Alas...that is all they can do though. They can't beat any other class because they want terrible Beast Mastery, so warriors, rogues, druids, paladins, mages, and shamans...have no problems against them. What a stellar spec that is right? So I could really careless that a hunter can take me because he has that, just means when I roll with a melee class...he gets raped.

Ok since you say if a rogue has all their cooldowns he can beat a mage easily, lets look at their cooldowns and how they affect you.

Vanish- Ok he can get back into stealth if he hasn't got a Dot on Him (fire spec) or if the water elemental is casting on him (its extremely buggy and can take you out of stealth seconds after you have used it)

Blind- 8Second Crowd control which allows him to bandage or restealth ,thats if you dont have your water elemental up. So if he actually did get back into stealth that would have been 8seconds past iam sure your Blind will be avaliable in that time so thats you safe there.

Evasion- Affects you in no way,shape or form..

Sprint- Ok they can use it to try and catch you when your kiting .If your a frost mage they will still be snared when they pop it (unless they are combat spec which you should each for breakfast)

CoS- And now for the almighty CLOAK OF SHADOWZZZZ the amount of times ive seen mages just try and run will iam pwnin em is insane. Its not like you cant tell when they have used it they turn completely purple. Iceblock is a huge help here, after they have used CoS they are pretty much a free honor kill unless you cant do 10k damage in 60seconds....

And if your really worrying go get Engineering make yourself some Adamantite grenades and stun the fooker for 3seconds when they pop CoS.

Dont know what else you really need to know it isnt hard to keep your distance from a rogue...

So i go arcane/fire and i have no ice block or elly how do u kill a rogue if u dont crit on him with your pyro. Arcane has the least ability to adapt to a situation you have 12 seconds of increased damage but if u are fighting an ice mage and they ice block your pom/pyro and out last your arcane power then u die. Arcane mages that spec for slow are ok it helps a bit but if u dont get it you cant beat a rogue w/o CD's and a crit, or a warrior,or a druid.

I dunno :confused: i was duelin a fire mage today and he got a 5066 crit on me but i still won, they dont really give rogues much trouble. you spec for what you want to beat, 3

IF i specced combat and came up against two warriors i would have a good chance of winning cuz of adrenline rush and blade flurry also being able to riposte melee classes. were as if i came up against one good caster class it would be pretty difficult because i havent got alot of burst damage. If you want to go do bg's and pwn just go Fire and get the huge crits .Stay with the group ,rogues will try and kill you but they wont be alive long enough to do it:p.

We all have our counter classes, if you can't deal with that, then seriously...The Sims has been waiting for you. I've always striven to be good at PvP, it isn't about gear, but my gear will blow your face away even easier. How do I get out of polymorph without a trinket? Exactly, you can charge up all day with your nastiest spell while I'm chillin' as a sheep. Just because people like me enjoy melting you away and then laughing at you as we kill you several more times, doesn't mean we want to hear you cry all day.
